Alissia Freeman was last seen leaving her home in Crenshaw County Highland Home around 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, Dec 13, 2015, wearing a crimson colored Alabama shirt, blue jeans and a pair of black and white converse tennis shoes. She told her family she was taking out the garbage from her room, but she never returned home.

Freeman is classified as a runaway, Sheriff Mickey Powell said.

“It looks as if she doesn’t want to be found,” he said, adding Freeman had deleted the hard drive on her computer and closed her Facebook account before leaving.

Authorities are concerned that Freeman may have met up with someone she met in a chatroom.

Powell said there’s evidence Freeman was a member of three or four chatrooms. However he did not divulge the nature of the chatrooms and the possible discussions she had in them.

Freeman’s mother, Vickie Metcalf, said she didn’t think her daughter would run away from home.

“Everything has been fine,” she said. “She hadn’t said anything to us that anything had been going on. Everything had been fine as far as we knew.

“We feel pretty helpless ….,” Metcalf added.

Powell said Freeman was homeschooled and appeared to have a good relationship with her family.

Vickie Metcalf says she won’t give up searching for her missing daughter, Myra Alissia Freeman.

The Highland Home mother took her search national when she appeared by phone on Nancy Grace on HLN.

“She could be in any state so getting it out there nationally I thought would be a lot better,” told Metcalf

Freeman disappeared over a year ago, on the evening of Dec. 13, 2015, after taking out the garbage from her room. Neighbors said they saw the girl, then 17, walking along nearby Highway 331 later the same evening. Freeman wasn’t carrying anything with her.

Vickie Metcalf is now pleading for help in the search for her missing teenage daughter, 18-year-old Myra Alissia Freeman.

In a recent Facebook post she wrote, “It has come to my attention that some people may not be taking her disappearance seriously. There is a rumor going around that she is just hiding with her boyfriend, however the investigators on her case do not believe there is any truth to that rumor. So, please understand that not all rumors are true, and I believe our local investigators are doing everything they can.”

She is described to have blue eyes, brown hair, 5-foot-1-inch tall and weighs about 121 pounds.

At the time, Freeman was classified as a runaway and was believed to have left home to meet up with someone she met online.

However Metcalf said law enforcement has received numerous reports that Freeman is being trafficked. She may have been spotted in Atlanta and Nashville.

“This is a very serious situation and she needs your help,” she wrote. “I know that it can seem like you aren’t doing much by just sharing her flyer but you are.”

The Federal Bureau of Investigation is offering a $10,000 reward for information that leads to Freeman. The reward grew to $13,500 thanks to other local donors.

Someone out there has information on the whereabouts of Myra Alissia Freeman and that person or persons need to come forward now.
